Abstract:
The study aimed to determine the relationship between psychological empowerment and self-awareness among social workers in the Ministry of Social Development. It also aimed to uncover the differences in the level of psychological empowerment and self-awareness according to the two variables of (gender, and years of experience). The sample consisted of (85) social workers, who were chosen by the simple random method. The Psychological Empowerment Measure and the Self-Awareness Measure were applied on them. The results of the study showed that there is a positive statistically significant relationship between the means of the private self-awareness and the means of the general self-awareness and the total degree of self-awareness. However, the results also showed no statistically significant relationship between the private self-awareness and psychological empowerment. Further, the results of the study indicated that there is a positive statistically significant relationship between the means of the general self-awareness and the total degree of self-awareness and between psychological empowerment, while that there is no statistically significant relationship between the means of selfawareness and psychological empowerment. The researcher made several recommendations in the light of the results of the study
