Abstract:
This study aimed to measure the cognitive outcomes levels for students in athletics courses at the Faculty of Physical Education, and to identify the differences in students' responses according to )sex, study year, & course level( variables.The researcher used the descriptive approach to achieve the aim of the study. The study sample consisted of )75( students, )49( males and )26( females who were selected purposively on the basis of completing )athletics( courses and another sports science courses. The researcher used a questionnaire that includes five areas (technical performance, law, training, nutrition, injuries(.The results of the study showed that the cognitive outputs of the students in the athletics courses came within the intermediate level. No statistically significant differences in the cognitive output due to the gender variable were registered, however statistically significant differences were found due to the variable of the school year except for the field of nutrition and injuries. The results also showed that there are statistically significant differences according to the level variable )the course of athletics training theoriers) for all fields except for the field of nutrition and for all fields of study for the level of specialization .The researcher recommends increasing the interest in different areas of knowledge through seminars, lectures and educational bulletins and preparing training courses to raise the level of knowledge products of athletics sports for students after graduation.
