Abstract:
This study aimed at translating & standardizing the Self-Compassion Scale
)S.C( which is prepared by the American scientist )Neff: 2003(, and preparing
it to be used and implemented at the Palestinian society in Gaza strip.
To achieve these goals, the researcher translated the target scale with the
assistance of translation specialists & determine its reliability, validity, and
criteria that are suitable for it. The number of the sample was )1436( youth
students from Al-Aqsa University )319 M., 1117 Fe.( from the age )18-22(
years. The sample was selected from various disciplines and levels of the
university study. The results showed that the scale had achieved high levels
of honesty and stability, Which indicates its validity for use and application
to measure the level of Self-Compassion among youth in the Palestinian
environment. The study recommends that researchers who are interested in
this field of study, can use this scale as a new tool use it in future psychological
studies and researches for the Palestinian youth, especially the young people
with special needs who may suffer from a low level of self- compassion.
