Abstract:
The study aimed at identifying the degree of commitment of faculty
members to professional teaching ethics of at Al-Rustaq’ College of Education
in Oman from the students’ perspective. This study also aimed at identifying
the different in student perspective based on gender, Academic program, and
level of education.
To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was used to collect
data from (285) students. The questionnaire consisted of (39) divided into five
dimensions: (1) teaching ethics; (2) dealing with students; (3) regulations and
instructions; (4) development; and (5) personality. The results of the study
showed that there is a statistically significant different in students perceptions
related to gender for male students, college level for second year students, and
academic program for education.
In light of the results, the study recommends to increase the number of
training courses on the one hand and encouraging the enrollment of faculty
members in the E - learning courses on the other hand. As well, the study
recommends preparing code of ethics in the college as a reference for academic
departments and faculty members.
