Abstract:
The objective of the study was to identify the level of both friendship
and forgiveness and to investigate the relationship between them, as well
as to ensure the psychometric properties of the study tools. The study was
conducted on a sample consisting of )129( adolescents )50 males, 70 females(
that was randomly selected from grades 8 to 11. Participants ages ranged from
)14-18( years )Means= 15.75, SD= 1.35(. The results showed that the Quality
of Friendship was at a high level, and that the percentages of the means of the
Quality of Friendship and its dimensions )Mutual Closeness, Quality Advice,
Quality Assisstance, Friendship Warmth, and Exceeding Relationships(
ranged from 76% to 80.20%. Moreover, the percentage of tendency to forgive
reached )53.71%( showing a moderate level. The results further revealed that
the Qualily of Friendship and its dimensions were not signifcantly correlated
with forgiveness.
