Abstract:
The research aimed to determine the level of degree of future anxiety of the
student teachers and the difference degree of future anxiety according to social
status, gender, academic specialization. The measure of future anxiety was
applied to a sample consisting of (462( students who were under graduation
during their teaching practice period in the College of Basic Education in
Kuwait. The percentages and t-test of the student teachers’ responses were
calculated and analysed.
The results indicated that future anxiety percentages ranged between
(58.86 – 72.94( and that the political and social sphere of anxiety for the
future had the highest percentage while no differences were indicated between
the academic specialization on the degree of future anxiety of the student
teachers. The results also showed statistical signifcant differences between
the arithmetic averages of the male and female scores in the scale in favor of
the females while no statistical signifcant differences were registered between
the numerical averages of the students’ grades according to the socioeconomic
situation, health and death, political, social, academic and vocational, and the
general results of the scale.
