Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the needs of families having children with hearing
loss in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from their perspectives. The study followed
a descriptive analytical approach, with a sample consisting of (118( families. The
results showed that the need of families having children with hearing loss were very
high. The identifed needs were as the following: needs related to society, needs
related to material and moral support, and needs related to information. The results
showed that there were no signifcant differences in the sample needs according to
the variables of the study, except for the domain of needs related to society, in which
the differences came in favor of the females. The study recommended the necessity
of concerted offcial and civil efforts to fulfl the needs of families who have children
with hearing loss.
