dc.description.abstract The present research study aimed mainly to identify the effectiveness of the courses of field experiences in preparing the student teachers of art education at the Faculty of Education at King Saud University professionally in accordance with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education's standards (NCATE) based on the students' perspectives. The study evaluated the effectiveness of two courses; first was CI 346 - curricula and methods of teaching art education, and the second was CI 466 - Education. In addition, the differences between the averages of the study sample's responses were calculated based on the gender and the supervisor of the field training. The study sample consisted of (35 male students) and (32 female students) who answered a questionnaire prepared to get answers for the study's questions. The results indicated the existence of an agreement between the members of the sample of the study on the effectiveness of the course (CI 346) in preparing them to achieve the objectives of field experiences in general average (2.86). Inaddition the results indicated the existence of a strong agreement among the sample of the study on the effectiveness of the course (CI 466) in preparing them to achieve field experience goals with an average of (3.28). The respondents' responses have varied about the effectiveness of the courses between the level of "do not agree" and "strongly agree". The study results showed statistically significant differences between the responses of the respondents about the effectiveness of the courses of field experiences in achieving their goals due to gender and the supervisor variables. Based on the study's results several recommendations have been reached. en_US
