dc.description.abstract |
The aim of this study is to explore the perceptions of secondary school teachers in the state of Qatar toward the implementation of e-learning and internet services in education in the independent secondary schools. This study was conducted to investigate the following variables: sex, years of experience, attendance of workshops in computer, & subject matter areas. A questionnaire was designed and validated, it was administered electronically to a sample consisting of 400 male and female high independent school teachers. The results revealed the following: 1- The level of implementation of e-learning in education was medium, and the internet services in education was rare in the independent secondary schools. 2- Significant difference was found between male and female teachers in favor of male teachers in e-learning domain, and no significant difference was found between male and female teachers in internet services domain. 3- Significant difference was found between teaching experience in favor of teaching experience more than 10 years in e-learning domain, and no significant difference was found between teaching experience in internet services domain. 4- No significant difference was found between the attendance of computer workshops only and computer workshops plus ICDL in e-learning and internet services domains. 5- No significant difference was found between science and art majors in e-learning and internet services domains. 6- No significant differences were found between the interactions of the following variables: gender & years of experience, gender & computer workshops, gender & science and art majors, years of experience & science and art majors, computer workshops & science and art majors in both e-learning and internet services domains. 7- No significant differences were found between the interactions of the following variables: gender & years of experience & computer workshops, gender & years of experience & science and art majors, gender & computer workshops & science and art majors, years of experience & computer workshop & science and art majors, gender & years of experience & computer workshops & science and art majors in both e-learning and internet services domains. The results were interpreted and some recommendations and future studies are suggested. |
