Abstract:
The research aimed at verifying the psychometric properties of the big five personality factors inventory (neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeability and conscientiousness). The study was conducted on a sample of (227) male and (371) female students from Gaza. The five factors inventory designed by (Costa & McCrae, 1992) was translated in to Arabic because it is the most reliable and valid and commonly used in verification. The Inventory reveled an adequate degree of reliability and internal consistency. The results related to factorial analysis indicated to find out five factors (conscientiousness, narcissism, extroversion, agreeableness, and openness to experience). Moreover, the results showed some similarities and difference in the factorial structure of the inventory of female and male sample.
