Abstract:
This study has attempted to identify the principles on which educational policies are based, and the role university teaching plays in preparing the individual to face life challenges. The researcher has designed a questionnaire consisting of (64) items divided into seven areas, with a four- level scale. After undergoing measurements of realability and validity, the questionnaire was distributed to a sample of (700) students from yarmouk University. The results were as follows: - Suggesting a number of basic principles on which educational policies should be based -Organizing the functions the university has to carry out, according to importance from students’ point of view. -Independent variables have an impact on the answers of the study sample regarding the items of the study tool. In light of the research results, a number of recommendations and suggestions were offered.
