Abstract:
The study aimed to use the Graded Response Model (GRM( in building
a measure of academic readiness for university students, and the descriptive
analytical method. The sample consisted of (710( male and female students
from Shaqra University with second to the eighth levels during the second
semester of the academic year (2021/2020(. The scale consisting of 22 items,
which was prepared by the researcher, was applied.
The statistical package in the social sciences (SPSS( and MULTILOG
7 programs were used to analyze the data of this scale. The results of the
study showed that the scale had appropriate psychometric properties, if the
value of the reliability coeffcient of the scale items was (0.93). The scale had
also multiple indications of validity, and matching the scale items with the
assumptions of the graduated response model in the item response theory that
the scale is one-dimensional.
