Abstract:
The Current study has intended to investigate the acquisition of second grade secondary school students (11th grade) in Riyadh of the basic Inheritance’ concepts. The study included a random sample of 186 students, and they were subjected to standardized achievement test. The results showed misconceptions of Inheritance concepts: (genes, DNA, nucleus, chromosomes, alleles, genetic information). Also, the results showed misconceptions of students’ understanding regarding the relationship between the diversity of living organisms and genetic information and chromosomes.
